Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung confers Labor Orders to employees and units of Vietsopetro


The Việt Nam-Russia Oil and Gas Joint Stock Company (Vietsovpetro) on Friday celebrated its 30th founding anniversary in the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.

Over the past three decades, the company has experienced tremendous development. Now it is home to nearly 7,000 qualified staff, including international certificate holders.

Vietnamese engineers and workers are capable of mastering of almost all the manufacturing process, from design to production of a number of key input materials of international standard.

Vietsopetro has exploited over 193 million tons of oil and 23 billion cubic meters of gas, significantly contributing to ensuring Việt Nam’s energy security and protecting the country’s sovereignty in the East Sea.

Speaking at the founding anniversary, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng noted that the establishment of Vietspetro opened up a new development stage of the oil and gas industry in Việt Nam.

Vietsopetro celebrates 30th founding anniversary

The Party and State highly appreciate the contribution of Vietsopetro in nurturing the traditional Việt Nam-Russia relationship, PM Dũng said.

He took the occasion to convey sincere thanks to Russian scientists and experts for their valuable assistance to  the development of the joint venture and the Việt Nam’s oil and gas sectors in general.

The Government chief asked the Việt Nam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in general and Vietsopetro in particular to boost oil and gas exploitation in the country’s continental shelf as well as expand overseas searching, exploration and exploitation activities.
